Please Help Us Raise Funds for our Veterans

Veteran’s Day will be here before we know it– along with that comes our Poppy Days.  This year it will be Friday November 1st and Saturday November 2nd.  We need volunteers from the Auxiliary, Legion, SAL and Riders for both days.

Friday-we need people to stand in front of local businesses distributing poppies and taking donations.  If you are interested in doing that please contact me by Thursday October 31st at 293-1541 and I will make arrangements to meet and get you set up with poppies and a location   You can do the buddy system – take a friend then go to lunch.

Saturday we need plenty of drivers to transport the JROTC students to the local businesses. We will have coffee and donuts in the morning, as well as provide you with lunch that day.  If interested, you can contact me at 293-1541 or sign up on the Poppy volunteer sheet on the Auxiliary Room door – I will also post the driver info sheet if you would like to see what is involved. I look forward to hearing from you.  The more drivers that we have the faster that we get the cadets out there, back in for lunch and back out again. If you don’t drive and want to help we have other things that need to be covered as well

Please note that money that is collected can ONLY be used for veterans or their families, this includes active military families as well. This money has been used to help pay an electric bill, rent, food, fuel and the list goes on and on.  We also make a donation each year to the Armory for their annual Christmas party.

If sending a donation, please send by November 25th.  I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to help with our program as well your kind donations.  It all helps in making our program a success.
